The Seasons Not Over as Four Former Lions Compete
for All American Honors
Even though the Nassau
Community College wrestling team finished their season two weeks ago in
Des Moines, Iowa at the NJCAA National Championships, four former lions
are still wrestling. This past season Nassau had another very
successful year, finishing second in the NJCAA non scholarship Division
and seventh overall, with six wrestlers earning All American honors. At
125lbs Ricardo Gomez finished 2nd, 141lbs Kodie Silvestri 3rd, 149lbs
Robert Troy 6th, 165lbs Lance Wade 5th, 174lbs Jules Doliscar 5th,
285lbs Corey James 7th.
Also this year two
former Nassau wrestlers earned All American honors at the NCAA Div 3
National Tournament, Chris Wade 174lbs (Oneonta State) 5th, Martino
Sollitile 197lbs (SUNY Cortland) 7th.
This upcoming weekend
another former lion, Andre Harrision (Fort Hayes University), will be
competing at 141lbs in the NCAA Div 2 National Tournament. Andre is
currently ranked 2nd in the nation with a record of 21-4.
At the Div 1 level
three former Nassau wrestlers will be vying for All American honors,
125lbs Chris Notte (Oklahoma State) with a record of 23-8, at 149lbs
Bobby Ward (North Carolina State) 25-8, and Brandon Williamson (West
Virginia) 285lbs with a record of 18-7.
Congratulation to all
the Nassau wrestlers on their All American honors and good luck to the
remaining four, show the country that we're not done yet.
